So what exactly is an extranet? It's a means of extending some of your
information and data beyond the confines of your company network - allowing
partners or clients to read that information, or even to edit and add their own.
You can share selected items on your intranet with a client. You control access,
so you can decide who gets to see what. If you already have a SharePoint
intranet, the platform offers various ways in which to share some of the
information with people outside your company.
