So we will work closely with you, discussing the context and the details of the task to be achieved by the software.
From these discussions we will be able to recommend a suitable approach by which to build the solution. That approach could be one or more of the following:
- A recommendation to purchase off-the-shelf software that fits your needs.
- Minor customisations to existing software - for example, creating Microsoft Word templates or complex Excel spreadsheets.
- Designing and developing a tailored application
- Extending Microsoft server software - for example, using Windows SharePoint Services as a foundation upon which to create more complex behaviours.
A key aim in our working process is to deliver small chunks often - to let you get your hands on a small portion of the solution. To assess it, discuss it amongst your colleagues, and to check that your expectations are being met as early as possible. Hence the name Small Steps - taking small steps towards the final goal.
